About the Event
We're reading Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson to continue our equity and antiracism learning - we'd love to have you join us! Learn more.
Check out a copy of the book from the Jackson District Library or buy a copy wherever books are sold, and get reading! We'll be meeting up monthly for informal discussion to help us process through what we're learning. Join us for all of them, or pop in to those that work for you! If you can't join any of the discussion sessions, that's ok too - the most important part is reading the book and challenging yourself to think and do differently based on what you are learning!
Discussion sessions may be in person or virtual (depending on the needs of the folks who participate). Here are the dates and times along with what parts of the book we'll be discussing:
- July 19th from 5:30 - 7 pm (Part 1)
- August 14th 12 - 1:30 pm (Parts 2 & 3)
- September 20th from 5:30 - 7 pm (Continued Parts 2 & 3)
- October 18th from 12 - 1:30 pm (Part 4, The Tentacles of Caste, Pg. 167 - 260)
